Dave B... (and hdl) Sorry about that. My eyes saw SDRAM but my mind saw DDR. You would think that SDRAM in P4 would hurt Rambus. That would be the logical thought. It all boils down to cost and who has the better sales pitch. But it can't be cost alone. e-Machine proves that. While an e-Machine computer is cheaper than dirt the company is having financial problems and are looking for a buyer of the company last time I heard. And while they are cheaper than dirt there are still plenty other more expensive computers being sold by DELL, COMPAQ, HP, etc. So it can't just be cost. How many readers here bought a new computer over the last few years that didn't buy the cheaper e-Machine, but bought the more expensive DELL, etc. I believe the sales pitch will be the key. The sales pitch will be on performance and new top technology at a reasonable price... and that spells RAMBUS!
