Well, they do have another farm called McKinley. But Merced seems like a basket case, at least for the moment. That alone wouldn't worry me; the original Pentium was a basket case at first, too. The real problem: looks like PC growth is moderating while margins are shrinking. If true, both AMD and INTC are in trouble; it's just that AMD is priced for trouble, and INTC is priced for perfection. Dell's action today in response to mild news shows what happens when merely very good reality hits a stock priced for perfection. Thus my puts. mb
