Watching the left go nuts over the pardons
DON SURBER

President Donald John Trump pardoned Paul Manafort and others just now and the reaction from liberals was as expected. Their righteous indignation is delicious because we all see the toilet paper stuck to their shoes.

That is the best part of these pardons is watching these phony baloneys demand How Dare You! They are Taylor Armstrong yelling at Smudge the Cat.

The New York Times sputtered, "It was the second wave of pardons and commutations by the president in two days, showing his willingness to use his power aggressively on behalf of loyalists."

Manafort as you may recall was railroaded by the Mueller Witch Hunt that the Times aided and abetted by promoting the Russian Collusion lie.

QAnon has nothing on the conspiracy theorists at the Times, the Washington Post, and every other mainstream press outlet.

Clutching its dime-store plastic pearls, the Times said, "President Trump doled out clemency to a new group of loyalists on Wednesday, wiping away convictions and sentences as he aggressively employed his power to override courts, juries and prosecutors to apply his own standard of justice for his allies.

"One recipient of a pardon was a family member, Charles Kushner, the father of his son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Two others who were pardoned declined to cooperate with prosecutors in connection with the special counsel’s Russia investigation: Paul Manafort, his 2016 campaign chairman, and Roger J. Stone Jr., his longtime informal adviser and friend.

"They were the most prominent names in a batch of 26 pardons and three commutations disclosed by the White House after Mr. Trump left for his private club in Palm Beach, Fla., for the holiday."

Hahaha.

To the fainting couches, journos.

The president is following the advice of Kurt Schlichter, colonel, lawyer, and damned good writer. He wrote, "Pardon Everyone," last Friday. It was sound advice.

He wrote, "They will scream. They will shout. And we will cheer because the president has used his power to save his friends and confound his enemies. That's what power is for. They want to abuse their power? Then we will use ours to stop them.

"I wish it did not have to be this way. I wish there was one system of impartial justice where the innocent are not hounded and the guilty are held accountable without reference to their party or faction. But there isn't, and we have zero moral obligation to pretend a manifestly two-tiered justice system has anything to do with justice at all. A mass pardon spotlights the problem and provides an opportunity to make a choice – re-embrace justice, or continue with more of the same?

"Maybe someday the feds will earn back a reputation for neutrality and fairness, for impartiality and a commitment to the truth. Maybe Efrem Zimbalist Jr. will cease spinning in his grave. I hope so because there is nothing more profoundly destructive to our system than the kind of rampant and unrepentant double standard we have seen in the last decade. But the return to justice is not happening in the next four years under a President Asterisk administration. No, the Democrats are out to settle political scores, so President Trump should settle their hash.

"Pardon everybody."

Democrats, the media, and the RINOs used the criminal justice system to go after President Trump for imaginary crimes while letting Obama, Biden and Susan Rice off the hook for using the FBI to lie and spy on the political opposition.

Screw the system then.

And just to twist the knife, once the left has gone through its act of moral indignation, President Trump should pardon Obama.

Stain him with the prophylactic he would need if we still lived in a nation that had the rule of law. He fundamentally transformed ours into a banana republic. Why not humiliate him with the presumption of guilt from a presidential pardon.

It would drive the press right over the cliff.
