Hey look at the name of the thread. It's an occupational bias.

There already is trading in non American issues. They're called ADRs. The US markets have over 9000 stocks to choose from. The retail investor is not likely to stray far from what they already know and understand. IMO foreign markets will only appeal to a small subset of the trading/investing pool.
