Happy_girl - the PPI report was benign - in fact, many are saying the numbers were weaker than expected. The PPI gained .2% in July (forecast was .3%). And the core rate (excluding food and energy) was flat (forecasts were for a .1% gain). And so, this morning, most everyone is happy. But of course, I seem to remember months past where we had a benign PPI followed by a bad CPI - but let's not think about that right now - we have two days to party! -Eric
