Re. stock options: these are not given away for nothing but rather are purchased for a set, predetermined price (usually a discount to the market price at the time they are granted) at the time they are exercised. They can then be sold on the open market. And being an open market, they don't have the option (pardon my pun) to sell them only to the 'poor suckers' on this thread (tongue planted firmly in cheek).

So you see, it's not near as good as deal as your short-selling, since you in fact have to pay nothing up front.

But I suspect you knew this already and were simply trying to instill fear in the investors. If not, better give up your day job :)
