Largest Mainboard Manufacturers Ready to Use NVIDIA Crush Chipsets

There is nearly no doubt now that on June 4 NVIDIA will introduce its new Crush chipset family for Socket A CPUs including two members: Crush 11 and Crush 12. These will be integrated chipsets supporting DDR SDRAM and integrated GeForce2 MX core. They will differ by the memory interface, which will be 128bit for Crush 12 and 64bit for Crush 11. NVIDIA selected all the largest and most popular manufacturers to be its launch partners and to start shipping Crush based products. Among them fall, ASUS, ABIT, Gigabyte and MSI. Our sources provided us with some details of the upcoming Crush based products, which we may soon see. Here are some specs of Crush 12 based mainboards:
* ABIT NV7 . This ATX mainboard will have 1 AGP and 5 PCI slots, 4 USB ports, 3 DIMM slots for PC1600/PC2100 DDR SDRAM. It will support ATA/100 and have integrated AC'97 sound.
* ABIT NV22. This MicroATX mainboard features 1 AGP and 3 PCI slots, 4 USB ports and 3 DIMM slots for PC1600/PC2100 DDR SDRAM. It will also support ATA/100 and have AC'97 onboard sound.
* Gigabyte GA-7NTM . This MicroATX mainboard features 1 AGP and 3 PCI slots, 4 USB ports and 3 DIMM slots for PC1600/PC2100 DDR SDRAM. It will also support ATA/100 and have AC'97 onboard sound.
* MSI MS-6367 . This MicroATX board has 3 DIMM slots for PC1600/PC2100 DDR SDRAM, 1 AGP, 1 CNR and 3 PCI slots, 6 USB ports and integrated NVIDIA APU sound (audio processor unit).
Crush based products should start shipping in volume within Q3 2001.
