C2, I should issue an official legal warning to you that I am a globally recognized class action expert and have successfully brought a class action suit in the case of Globalstar LP and Loral, receiving a substantial payment as Lead Plaintiff.

Hmmm....it looks as though you think BP would not necessarily successful defend such a class action suit regarding lead in petrol. I certainly have some inside information. "The Insider" - that's me. My job was simply petrol [aka gasoline] at one stage. That's why I was so jumpy about lead in people from petrol, as well as benzene.

When I realized the harm lead in petrol was doing to people, I started promoting getting the damn stuff out. It was an uphill battle. Associated Octel would make a good defendant too [perhaps a better one than the oil companies though they have less money].

I can demonstrate harm in the $thousands to people from lead in petrol. While the precise allocation of proportionate harm would be impossible due to other sources of lead, there should be many billable hours for lawyers to determine reasonable, fair, adjudicable levels of harm.

The USA has not had lead in much quantity in gasoline for nearly 40 years [due to catalytic converters being required] so the proportion of people still alive who could claim lead pollution and loss is dwindling. About half the population hasn't ingested significant lead from gasoline.

It was one of the great blunders of humanity - putting lead in petrol. There is no shortage of blunders. It's a miracle any of us are alive though the design process is pathetic - "We'll produce all possible DNA combinations and mutations and see which ones survive the onslaught". Imagine building airliners like that, with 99.9999999% of attempts going down in flames or otherwise failing on takeoff.
