criticisms of our policy.......
What criticisms of policy. I don't even know what our current policy is.

Did your weekend come up with any solutions or just criticisms??
I am able to predict the outcome of either 'side' winning in this thing. I don't actually believe it is winnable by either side. What I think is more likely to happen following the current course is, either a long drawn out regional conflict or a new global conflict. It already has the elements of global conflict but the elements are using Syria as some sort of proxy conflict.

If you take the global alliances out of the mess (not likely) then I can easily suggest a solution, satisfactory to all. The Global powers agree to support the development of a constitutional government with guarantees to protect the rights of minority populations and individual human rights.
