Compaq Athlon 550 boxes at Costco for $1999. Finally some systems showing up in the retail channel. Wasn't exactly a great buy. Compaq Pentium III 550 with a 19" monitor (instead of the 17" monitor bundled with the Athlon) and everything else equal was $2099. It will be interesting to see if anyone buys the Athlon boxes. Too bad it wasn't a 700mhz Athlon for $1999.
