Bullshit from two idiots, the idiot bull and the idiot bear!

RE: "Competition among chipmakers could someday pinch profits enough to hurt their tool suppliers, says the Goldman analyst. But not soon."

Profits have been pinched since the bubble burst and it has been hurting tool suppliers.

RE: "There could be an overcapacity situation that emerges after all the 300-millimeter facilities get built out," Covello said. "But that's a 2005 and 2006 year scenario. Meanwhile, there's a tremendous amount of money to be made in the semicap stocks.""

This is just a forecast of a "normal" up cycle. It hasn't happened and it ain't going to happen soon enough to be over by 2005 or 2006. I guess it would take more than brain dead to factor in the implications of the bubble and to modify the rear view mirror projection.
