John Galt does not short nor does he play options. He knows the
rules to these games and has chosen not to use them. He sees they
place an individual investor at an immediate disadvantage.

The common mistake traders make is to start using ever more sophisticated mechanisms in an attempt to improve their perormance.
The common assumption here is THE MORE COMPLEX...THE MORE SUCCESS.
This reasoning John Galt finds patently absurd. They are trying to
predict what is not predictable.

John Galt, on the otherhand, defines what is NOW. It is hard work,
but it is the only strategy, he finds, that actually works.

Margin = 2 x equity.
