In 1998, 301 people were killed in the bombing of U.S. Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. In 2000, 17 people were killed when terrorist attacked the U.S.S. Cole, a U.S. naval vessel that had put in to port at Aden, Yemen. On 11 September 2001, terrorist hijacked multiple aircraft and launched simultaneous attacks on locations (targets) in New York and Washington, DC. Total deaths and injuries were staggering and still being counted as I prepared this book.
