and then we have the 1990's

In 1996 we witnessed 19 U.S. military personnel killed, when terrorist exploded an IED at the Khobar Towers in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. In 1998, 301 people were killed in the bombing of U.S. Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. In 2000, 17 people were killed when terrorist attacked the U.S.S. Cole, a U.S. naval vessel that had put in to port at Aden, Yemen. On 11 September 2001, terrorist hijacked multiple aircraft and launched simultaneous attacks on locations (targets) in New York and Washington, DC. Total deaths and injuries were staggering and still being counted as I prepared this book. Overall during the 1990s, a total of 97 Americans were killed and about 1,700 were injured during international terrorist attacks.
