DJ Fannie Mae Files With SEC To Delay 10-Q >FNM`

DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

Government-sponsored mortgage giant Fannie Mae (FNM) Wednesday filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to delay the filing of its quarterly financial report.

The company said it won't file the report, for the period ended September 30, 2006, on time. T

he company also said it now estimates its restatement and related regulatory costs for full year 2006 will be about $850 million, and costs attributable to or associated with the preparation of financial statements and periodic SEC financial reports for periods subsequent to 2004 will total more than $200 million.
