Minera IRL Moves Two New Gold Mines Toward Production
Kevin Michael Grace

Minera IRL, T.IRL, is a junior on the cusp of becoming a midtier. So why is its share price still 36% down from its 52-week high? Courtney Chamberlain, founder, Executive Chairman and CEO replies, “I think a lot of it is the market. The gold equities are flat at the moment.” He then adds, with refreshing candour, “I’m not a particularly good promoter. I am rather conservative and like to deliver on our promises and consider credibility and reputation very important.”

Chamberlain is determined to do a better job of selling his company and its two major gold projects, Ollachea in Peru and Don Nicolas in Argentina. Just don’t expect any razzle-dazzle. “I get around and tell our story, but I don’t try to overdo it, either.” To assist in its presentation, Minera has hired powerhouse PR firm Hill+Knowlton. But after spending half an hour talking with him, it’s clear that Chamberlain may be conservative, but he’s not a bad salesman at all.
