a palpable fear among many Americans that freedom is on its way out.
Privacy is already long gone. Your phone, your computer, your "smart" TV, Alexa/Siri, every connected device in your home is either watching, listening and/or recording you. What you post online, what websites you access, what you text and say on your phone, figure that it's all being stored and/or monitored somewhere.
All newer vehicles have black boxes to record how you're driving, along with connections such as OnStar which transmits where you're driving in real time. Every time you use your credit or debit card, where you shop and what you buy is on the record. Cameras watching you have become ubiquitous.
Whether it's the government or mega corporations accumulating all the data, your privacy is toast. And with that, liberty and freedom become precarious and endangered. It's not black helicopters, it's the slowly boiled frog syndrome. Is it too late to stop and reverse it? I don't know.. |
