They left quite a trail of superstitious destruction and death, eh? A lot of them didn't believe any of that stupid shit. They weren't savages anymore. But if you're on the side of power you stay there and you take advantage. They simply saw the opportunity to treat other humans like horses and cattle to their own aggrandizement. And not having any rational moral values they simply used "Faith" and "Force". Sick bastards.
