Hey DAK and Hey Pokonee!
During this wonderful weekend in the woods canoeing and enjoying nature, I thought from time to time OF THE TIME I am wasting with the Village Idiots--particularly, Brumstone. His posts are basically lies and evasions until he is cornered, and then he generates new topics--primarily having as their subject his personal attacks against other thread members--or against great personages of history who were NOT Christians. As concerns his Christian faith, he refuses to discuss it in any way. When confronted with the absurdities of quoted scripture he goes, “yawn”. When confronted with the complete absence of science in quoted scripture (the place of science being filled by embarrassing superstitions), he goes, “sigh”. When confronted with the genocide, infanticide, rape, incest, racism, slavery, and butchery in the bible--he questions the sexuality of Aristotle or Jefferson or some other great man.
Any attempt to engage him in any sincere debate results in insults or evasions--or attempts to misrepresent the thread on some issue or mislead the reading public. When he is cornered, and posts are methodically logged to prove he is cornered--and to prove he is a liar and a fraud and that he conducts all his postings in a manner and to the purpose of deliberate deceit--he simply squirms and twists and turns and runs and dodges while flinging meaningless insults and attacks against thread members, as well as total strangers. He responds to everything in such an infantile manner that good conscience, self respect, and duty to personal value eventually compels one to consider whether it is sensible to steal time from decent people and joyous life only to have it wasted by the indigestion of a veritable child--knowing full well that he is ineducable--and that no moral advantage will attach to his life regardless of what sincere attempts are given to instructing his mind and uplifting his spirit.
Therefore, I have decided to respond to his posts to me with valuable paragraphs or writings from great thinkers (usually freethinkers!) such as Ingersoll, Rand, Aristotle, Shakespeare, Jefferson, Paine, etc. In that fashion, I remove myself from the extremely putrid and infantile environment in which he lives and moves and has his being--and I take the high road of learning and sharing worthwhile and valuable lessons from great and mature people.
Feel free to post to either of them, of course. I am simply giving you a heads up as to my reasoning for not wasting any more time on intellectual riff raff and moral abnormalities. You might find it is a waste of your good time and person as well. In 3D I would give such a person a severe beating and escort him to the edge of town. The best thing that can be done here (considering that he has no intention of engaging in honest or moral discussion and argument) is to simply post great ideas from great freethinkers and ignore his sexual fantasies and obsessions. Who has time for that crap?! |
