The US is very different from other developed nations. It's big and ethnically and racially diverse.

I'd be willing to bet that the murder rate among Americans of Scandinavians is similar to that of Scandinavians in Scandinavia. And that the murder rate among Japanese Americans is similar to Japanese in Japan. And so on.

This kind of thing applies to international health data too.
