Wolf Industries commences product testing with one of the world's largest dental material manufacturers
SEATTLE, WA, DECEMBER 9, 1998…. Wolf Industries' President Patrick McGowan announced this morning that the Corporate Executives met recently with the Chief Executive Officer as well as the Director of Research and Development of Germany-based, VITA - one of the world's largest dental material manufacturers.
Mr. McGowan said "At that meeting the Dental Color Analyzer was demonstrated and received an enthusiastic response. VITA requested a unit for clinical and protocol evaluation." This was accomplished with the shipment of an analyzer to their German laboratories in early December.
Mr. McGowan continued, "Pending positive results they requested an opportunity to enter into negotiations for marketing and distribution rights through their world distribution network. We are extremely pleased as VITA shade guides are the most widely distributed guides in the dental industry today. They are also one of the top three manufacturers of dental restorative materials. The restorative dental material/lab industry has in excess of $500 million in sales per year."
Mr. McGowan concluded, "We are pleased with the progress of Wolf Industries. Yesterdays announcement of favorable FDA Notice as well as our first contract for 750 units valued at $2.5 million puts the Company in a strong position."
Wolf Industries Inc., is a dental technology company with worldwide manufacturing and marketing rights to the DCA (Dental Color Analyzer), a leading edge technology to the dental industry which utilizes optical fiber spectroscopy for use in determining accurate, true measurement of shades and colors of dental materials.
The DCA has been developed to assist dentists in determining accurate and true measurement of shade and colors of dental materials. To date, the dental industry has relied primarily on visual interpretation of tooth shades for restorative dental work. The DCA, for which there is a patent pending, employs optical fiber spectroscopy to determine the exact shade of the original tooth. It determines the shades and colors of dental material used in replacement work in dentistry, and precisely matches these shades to original teeth.
