Dr. Kazi, your post was refreshing.
I've been a Christian ever since 1969 after God turned on a radio
(literally) when Billy Graham was preaching. Though I only heard
the last sentence of BG's radio address, it set me up to be ready
when a Japanese Christian evangelist asked me "Are you saved?" a
couple of weeks later.
As far as investing (short term trading, really) goes, my most
consistently successful year has been this current year, after I
decided to go into "partnership" with God in the stock trading
endeavor by tithing 10% to church.
I'll try to remember you and ask you for references if I ever need
surgery.
As far as stock tips go (referred to in the post that started this
thread) - praying for guidance in the process of making the necessary
decisions of when to buy and sell is certainly good advice. But stock
tips are a dime a dozen. They mostly cater to emotions. It should
take a lot more information than a mere "tip" for someone to decide to risk capital on one particular stock.
The Bible says, in regard to wisdom, that we have not because we
ask not. We can't go wrong by asking God for wisdom in all of our
endeavors - including stock picking and timing of buy/sell decisions.
