ORLANDO, Fla., May 20 (Reuter) - RoTech Medical Corp said on Tuesday that a Rotech subsidiary in Florida paid $612,500 to settle a civil action over Medicare brought by the U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Florida. RoTech said the dispute was over Medicare claims the federal government believes it erroneously paid from 1987 to 1989. The company said it is confident it had complied with Medicare rules but agreed to the settlement to get the matter resolved and reduce legal defense costs.
