Melissa I don't know all the rules about the 'quiet period' obviously but looks like there is nothing wrong with releasing this sort of news as long as they don't talk about earnings specifically,I am not sure though. Hope they hold some good news for the earnings date as it takes a lot to move the market these days and many good news these are simply overlooked by scared investors, I guess they only have appetite for the bad these days and are bound to find something bad even in good news. Look at Yahoo,AMD,GE and many others.
