Hi I2, >>All of the investors in the credit card companies loose much or all of their investments. What happens next? Is this remotely possible?

Anything is possible. I would assume as interest rates increase the credit card holders will cut down on purchases. I also assume the companies that own credit card businesses will notice these imbalances and take some action. Even I could write an intelligent application to sense this problem in real time.:-) In the past we have seen credit card interest rates as high as 21 percent so the public seems to be willing to borrow at very high rates for immediate gratification.
