I guess it is a matter of degree. To be clear, I doubt it will be "ruined" overnight, or even in my lifetime. But US record of success with these big programs has not been good. 40 or 50 years from now, I believe Obamacare will have destroyed our health care system. To me, that is tantamount to ruination.

Will the nation survive? Sure, but I think it will be radically transformed by it unless something happens that creates a sort of paradigm shift in a different direction. Just my opinion, but short of some kind of radical event, it is difficult to see how we wiggle through this mess.
