Major problem with W7-X64 and Itunes linking with Iphone Solved.

Having purchased a new iPhone4 on Friday afternoon, I was most shocked when it would not link with iTunes which is required to backup or load anything onto the iPhone. To make a long story short, after wasting eight hours on Friday and Saturday I finally found a discussion board with hundreds of messages about this problem. It is found in all manufacturers with Windows 7 64-bit operating system, symptoms are not consistent but all involve not being able to link iTunes properly with your iPhone. Technically it's got something to do with the USB ports not being properly configured. The solution has been available for only a few months, it involves updating your BIOS and your chipset software which is provided by the manufacturer of the computer or Intel.

The amazing part of this is that of course it seems this is a well-known problem but neither Apple nor the carrier have any inkling about this problem or its solution on their websites or in their store. This is very poor service for such a well-known problem and really such an easy solution once you're able to find it. Hope this saves somebody the hours I wasted.
