SSD Myths and Legends - "write endurance" Ed: Looks like the latest SSD drives require a lot of writing before they start to fail. This article deals with server usage but offers some insight on longevity with these drives. They have come a long way and I have changed my outlook with them. Does the fatal gene of "write endurance" built into flash SSDs prevent their deployment in intensive server acceleration applications? It was certainly true as little as a few years ago (2005).
