The rightwing lost their only issue in 2006. The Oscar went to CRASH, a film about the evils of rightwing racism, shallow politicization of wedge issues and the truth that all Americans are in this together.

And the montage of old cowboy films, including several with Charlton Heston, worshipping each others guns was hysterical. Jon Stewart nailed it. Hilarious. The spoof of the smearvet ads was also monumental. John Kerry is vindicated again.

As for BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, when you have a "cowboy" president who's never ridden a horse allowing gay escort Jeff Gannon into the WH 197 times, you know something is out of wack. Or just wacky.
