Ha ha,
Remember Bob, I'm a Montréal expatriate and it took me over 5 years to admit I lived here. :o) Everything south of Eglinton is still foreign territory to me after 15 years.

The Guild which is out my way in is sadly, in dire need of a reno work and I haven't been in years. You are bang on re: the Chinese food though, pick a Chinatown, any Chinatown, cause we've got a few :o) and there is great eating to be had. Second to nowhere I've been in NA. More expensive that China though ;o)

I'm not a downtown city guy so sorry Paul, on that I'd pull a blank. Last time I was downtown was to see Mamma Mia with my wife on a Friday balanced off with a good dose of Monster Truck Madness on the Sunday with my kids.

Bob re: Winstons and Peel Pub and a host of others... These are the names of popular places in Montréal from my misspent youth when Montréal was still great. They've been appropriated I guess because the Montréal name still has that 'good time' allure despite the deteriorating state of it's downtown entertainment core..

regards
Kastel
