Tom that is the general consensus of all players. AG raised rates in the midle of the Mexican crisis.

If I would be in his shoes I would inch up rates 0.25% in November, bring the market down 20% and then rest for a while, or nuge rates lower.

I admit it's risky but 0.25% out of 6% is very little to to the real world, the long bond will move below 6% - cheaper funding of treasury debt by close to 0.5% . And the Fed will prove it's independece.

Peter Shaw's scenario is also a valid one with higher probability.
