Vannie I can tell you from personal experience that Glen will not give up, he will keep posting until you capitulate. In addition he does indeed post proprietory, out of date data,,and seems to put a great amount of credance in its contents. He seems to use it as evidenced by his remark that the Tech sector has sucked up all of his cash.
I got into a similar exchange of "ideas' several months ago with him, which now brings to mind a remark by Ross Perot some time ago " When you get into a urinating contest with a skunk, can either one of you come out smelling good." Keep this in mind. Please I am not calling anyone a skunk only remarking that one person degrades another by insensitive remarks every thing degenerates down hill fast.
These threads are for the interchange of information on the specific stocks listed, and I welcome any ideas that can make me money. I have received much useful information on the various SI threads. Glen has never offered any original information that I can remember and surely none that has made me money. However his posts are never the less interesting.
so with that I would like to offer my input on the WDC saga:
. I have been long on WDC since 9/02/97 having gone to a total cash position the week previous. Am now down over $40,000 in the stock and still buying. I would agree that this is not rational however I believe WDC to be a fundamentally strong company. From my analysis believe that it will rebound back before christmas and regain everything it lost by end of january. Why?
WDC is attempting to gain significant market share at this time, in the high end drive sector where the real money is. Margins have always been very thin in the lower end drives yet even there they are making significant inroads. Ask almost any knowledgable technocrat what DD he will buy and my bet that the word WDC will come up more often that any other. WDC drives are very reliable, have a very high MTB, excellent performance, and rock bottom prices. Do we need to say more. Yep...Valueline still rates WDC as a 2 for timeliness (11/7/97), with 3-5 year return of 125-270%. . |
