Further to the MM's shorting issues... Market Maker's don't like carrying stock overnight. Why? In about five hours time (from this post), North American markets will see a nice little surge in the overall indices (Dow, S&P, etc.). Why? Because China and Indonesia are up about 10% on their Monday (many hours since closed), and if a MM had finished off Friday carrying a major short position into the weekend, there's a good chance he'd be looking for a new job in about twelve hours time. In short, all insomniacs invest in something Asian before the opening bell! <vbg> joe PS - I'm gambling big on this, so if I don't ever post again it's because I was wrong, and had to sell my computer for lunch money...
