.....OK folks..............found out a bit more about this proposed project and it's starting to smell................seems part of the plan is to build four 3 story buildings each with five 2 bedroom apartments on the corner shown in this photo.......very curious from a timing, location, purpose, and use point of view.................I simply can not envision someone choosing to build (20) 2 bedroom apartments in THAT part of THIS town.........without some kind of incentive......maybe I'm just jaded with conspiracy theories........but that's how I feel.....here's some background................LaGrange is a suburban county in NY about 70 miles North of NYC.............It is bisected North to South by the Taconic State Parkway................West of the Taconic is largely developed but still suburban......East of the Taconic toward Connecticut is still very rural with farms, open spaces, and upscale homes on multi acre lots.........for some time, residents in the hamlets east of the Taconic have sought to keep large scale development primarily west of the Taconic................this project is a direct slap in the face to that wish..................perhaps a test case??........................also, this seems to have been kept on the hush hush. Only adjacent property owners need be notified and since adjacent properties only involved the prior owner who is selling out and the town, apparently no nearby home owners knew about this in time to voice their concerns and ask questions..........the proposed apartment complex will go on the southwest corner of Rte. 82 and Noxon road.....closest to the town park ball fields. There is no city water or sewers east of the Taconic.....all wells and septic. Does that look like a good place for 2 bedroom apartments?......anyone??
