I do go along with GATA that the US Treasury and Fed plus some allied central banks has been waging war against gold for a long time. I applaud their efforts to bring this "stealth" campaign into the light of day and ultimately end it.

But when they start spreading ridiculous rumors about Greenspan supposedly telling the bullion banks to cover shorts by the end of May -- they have gone over the line as far as I'm concerned. Spreading such nonsense hurts their credibility and inflicts financial pain on gold investors naive enough to believe them.
