Richard,

Iomega has already stated that they can bundle a 3.5 floppy and zip together for an added $15 or $20. Think about that... Two drives for a price under the LS-120 (still can't find any of those yet. Hmm.) Don't get too concerned about backward compatibilty. I have a bunch of old vinly records and no record player. Didn't stop me from buying a cd player when I didn't even own any cd's yet :)

There are so many jumps in technology now adays that you must accept that the next step forward won't necessarily handle yesterday's media. Zip can and should replace the out-dated floppy because the price is right, the performance is acceptable, the media is reliable, and most of all, it is here now when you need it.

Luck to all,

Chris

ps- My lab just got a Jaz drive. Looks like we have a bad disk and we're gonna replace it. As for the drive itself... SWEET! This is an incredible product that people will keep finding new uses for. Watch out hard-drive manufacturers.
