Qwest Introduces QwestLinked Marketing Program

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 2, 1998--Qwest, a multimedia communications company building the world's most
advanced fiber optic network, today introduced its QwestLinked(TM) partner marketing program.

The QwestLinked symbol stands for the most advanced data, multimedia and voice services, and is synonymous with the
attributes of the Qwest Macro Capacity fiber optic network: superior transmission speed, quality and reliability. World-class
carriers, corporations and technology partners who choose the Qwest network for their data, multimedia and voice connections
are all eligible to become QwestLinked and share the brand trademark.

''QwestLinked provides Qwest a way to share with its customers and partners the recognition that they are using the most
technologically advanced network in the world,'' said Joseph P. Nacchio, president and CEO of Qwest. ''Companies that
become QwestLinked are endorsing their desire to use and sell the fastest, most reliable network in the world.''

QwestLinked Program

To qualify to become QwestLinked, corporations, carriers and technology vendors participating in the QwestLinked
co-marketing program must meet rigorous standards and criteria in areas such as customer support, performance, market
reputation and financial standing.

The Qwest Macro Capacity(SM) Network

Qwest's planned domestic 16,000 mile network will serve over 125 cities, which represent approximately 80 percent of the
data and voice traffic originating in the United States, upon its scheduled completion in the second quarter of 1999. Currently,
3,500 miles are activated from Los Angeles to Cincinnati; and from Dallas to Houston. Qwest is also extending its network
1,400 miles into Mexico with completion slated for late third quarter 1998.

The Qwest Macro Capacity Fiber network is designed with a highly reliable and secure bi-directional, line switching OC-192
SONET ring architecture. Upon completion, the network will offer a self-healing system that provides the ultimate security and
reliability by allowing instantaneous rerouting in the event of a fiber cut.
