The alternative to Visudyne is to go blind in 4 years or less.

The only other treatment which is no longer used in the States but is used by some barbaric Opthmalogists in Canada is to burn through the retina to attempt to destroy the abnormal blood vessels. This causes an immediate loss of vision where the retina was burned through. And has been completely ineffective in stopping disease progress.

Given the unstoppable progress of this disease, I expect even stronger results from the 2 year trial results. ... And I'd expect the longer term trial results to further improve the story.

So we've got very positive news. Approval is coming soon. And a stream of additional positive announcements can be expected periodically as more results for longer term trials are made public.
