If you want security in the Middle East, join us in getting off oil, away from religious extremists ranting for Armageddon, back to diplomacy, and getting at some of the underlying causes of terrorism.
Also, as Kerry said (which Bush mocked him for), the correct way to battle terrorists is to use intel, law enforcement, SpecOps and foreign allies, find the bastards and just plain kill or arrest them. That's how you do it. You don't hunt swamp rats with bulldozers. The bulldozer just sinks into the mud and the rats escape. Qhich is exactly what happened in Iraq, though there almost no terrorist in Iraqw to begin with so it was the wrong country to invade anyway.
Bush was 100% wrong about counter-terrorism. He played right into Al Qaida's hands and made the US weaker and terrorism stronger, despite a huge investment by our country. So don't believe the tough talk, only the smart talk. |
