No, actually cleared cookies off my pc recently and forgot username/password, then couldn't seem to figure out how to get them, thus the new login/screename as of today. Longtime lurker and sporadic poster previously under nrg_guru, I think (its been awhile since last post).
All the analysis in the world hasn't explained why the space has traded the way it has at times this year, so I actually feel like i'm playing with fire a bit using calls right now to the extent I am as its dangerous trading on a levered basis things I don't fully understand. Have been covering/trading space for a prop desk (mostly credit, but also equity) for few years until recently and your comments on correlation struck me as some of our bigger losers in energy (weren't many) were trades where the data said things should act a certain way given historic relationships, but the correlations continued to break down.
Anyway, downsizing of group about a month ago leaves me unemployed and with a lot of time on my hands for a bit, so hopefully I can post more often. Need to stay sharp and certainly enjoy the discourse. One thing I can say with certainty is hearing and discusssing the other side of my investment thesis heps me tremendously in my trading decisions. I'm a longer-term energy bull, but more cautiously optimistic, not really bulled up short-term. Do think some of the money that left the space will come back, but time will tell. Have been working under trading/holding period restrictions in my own account for awhile, so trying to make up for lost time and may be pushing my luck.
