You're free to not have health insurance, you just have to pay the fine. But, you've said you ALREADY have chosen to carry insurance, so, that's bogus. There was a time you were free not to have auto insurance. Times change.

Imagine the conservative equivalent to Obamacare. We'll call it Republigun. We know that violent crime is spiraling out of control from what we hear in the mainstream media every day (it's ok to ignore the true statistics, trust me). Our law enforcement agencies are seriously overworked and outgunned. They simply can't bear the burden of the responsibility and cost to protect everyone. It has been shown that criminals avoid targets who have the means to defend themselves (there has never been an NRA meeting targeted by violent criminals!!!). But there is a significant segment of the population that cannot afford firearms. And since there is no argument that bearing arms is a right of the people, it is the government's obligation to make sure that everyone has adequate firearms and ammunition.

The Republigun bill, also officially known as the Affordable Defense Act, provides the means where all residents of the United States, citizens and non citizens, regardless of income level, are able to acquire necessary firearms.

If you are currently purchasing one firearm a year, you will not be required to change dealers, brands or models of firearms. However, if you are currently firearm deprived the government will provide you with a couple of firearm options which you can buy at the special government sponsored marked up rates. Since we want our population to have the latest technological innovations in firearms in which to combat crime and tyrannical governments, all adults will be required to purchase a new gun every year.

Now, we understand that some people don't want to purchase firearms. They may feel that the fact that all of their neighbors have firearms provides a certain level of protection in itself. But is this really fair to let others bear the cost of their defense? I think not!! However, we also understand an individual's right to not bear arms. If you choose to exercise the right to not bear arms, you are free to do so, all you have to do is pay the $2000 fine per year.

Do you consider this an example of the freedom to not bear arms?

Do you want to live in a society where Republicans can dictate that you buy goods and/or services that you don't want?

Democrats are setting the precedent. They are giving the government the power to do this whether it is a democrat or republican controlled congress and president.

Democrats are not going to be in control forever. Do you really want Republicans to have this kind of power over you?
