joe,

bullrider, your fix worked for the bookmarks file, thanks!

You would not believe how many hours I have spent stirring around the innards of my 'puter attempting to figure things out.

I have been thru many formats and reboots.

Thank goodness for the $99 I spent for unlimited tech support from Gateway. Without them, my 'puter would be in the trash.

Now for your next Q.

Where else on my computer does my internet surfing habits get stored and what is the quickest way to delete all this stuff.

First, you can edit your bookmarks by clicking on "Bookmarks", then "Edit Bookmarks". It will show all of your bookmarks, and you can edit them at will.

The procedure I previously explained to you allows you to save your bookmarks to a disk for backup, or to export to another 'puter.

Now, for deleting unnecessary files:

Double click on "My Computer"

Double click on "C" Drive

Double click on "Windows"

Find the folders, "History", "Temp", and "Temporary Internet Files".

Don't delete the folders, but you can delete the content of the folders at will. Even the cookies.

I have another place you can look for cookies, but I don't wish to put you in "Data Overload" for now.

If you have not set your "Internet options" to delete these files automatically, you will most likely find several thousand files taking up space on your hard drive.

I can also advise you how to set your "Internet options" to delete them for you.

Let me know how you are doing.

Have fun,
Phil
