In other words would China have both possible 1xevdv configuration in a single network or separate networks?
----------

Chaz,

Who can say.....

But I believe China is a distance away from auctioning or awarding 3G spectrum....

And 1xevdv is a distance away from existing....

Might Unicom (and Telecom*) progress along the standard 1x evolutionary plan (including 1xevdv) in existing spectrum - and launch 1xevdv in 3G spectrum when the time arrives?

(* How can Telecom possibly rationalize installing a new GSM network - at this stage - for their new (expected) license - with Unicom building 1x in 10 cities this year?? With GPRS expectations slamming to earth??)

And MII can decree it most symmetric - 1 gsm operator (Mobile), 1cdma operator (Telecom), and one with both (Unicom).....
