John, I was not trying to be charitable to the front-end guys.

My only point was - so, after all has been said and done, who's got the money? And the money is with the homeowners, if you ignore the percent or two that the rest of the system got.

To wit, someone sold a shack in Cupertino, or wherever, for $700,000. The buyer is a "victim", the mortgage agent/broker/bank/appraiser are the "perpetrators" and what's the role of the seller? Just a helpless "bystander"?

Beats me.
