Dayton Mining Corporation - Gold Production and Banking Update
VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 4, 1998--Dayton
Mining Corporation (TSE, AMEX: DAY - news news) announces that
operations continue to improve at the company's Andacollo Gold Mine with
a third successive month of record gold production in November 1998. The
mine produced 10,015 ounces of gold in November.
Discussions are continuing with the company's banking syndicate and
other lenders for the restructuring or refinancing of the company's bank
debt. Discussions are proceeding without an extension of the waivers of
default previously given by the lenders to November 30, 1998. Dayton has
not yet agreed to a restructuring and there is no assurance that terms
acceptable to the lenders will also be acceptable to Dayton. The company
will disclose information as it becomes available.
Dayton Mining Corporation holds a 100% interest in the Andacollo Gold
Mine located in central Chile, and trades on both the American Stock
Exchange (AMEX) and Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE) under the trading
symbol DAY.
