I once made a list of things Bush had done that pleased me. (I enjoy a challenge.) I can't find it but I recall that I didn't need more than one hand.

Some of the items needed caveats. One was that he abandoned the tariff on steel. Of course, he couldn't have accomplished that without having established the tariff in the first place. He declined to advocate a constitutional amendment on marriage, that is until he changed his mind and did so. I also approved of his taking up Social Security. But then he fumbled the ball and that got nowhere. The one thing I thought he handled well that has no caveat was the way he shut down the attacks against Muslims and other strangers just after 9/11. I think there may have been something else but I can't remember it.
