I used the ultra strong password system code 1234 where if they get the first number wrong it kicks them out immediately. That one is tough to beat. Imagine their chagrin at not being able to even enter one number unless its the right one! We are diabolical.

When sending sensitive data I XOR the file with the phrase "anyonecanreadthis". It has proven impenetrable to all but the most sophisticated cracking schemes.

For high level data which we cannot share with anyone but crooked government officials we use a secret code known only to children. We get our respective offspring to communicate with each other which Cat in the Hat book they like the best by their description of the front cover using a common nursery rhyme they both may share. Then we communicate by numeration of the words, taking the letter from the day of the week rotated on the word. So three consecutive numbers identify each letter by page #, word #, and letter #. this has proved so impenetrable that we have not yet deciphered our own messages in a single instance.
