Int'l PBX issues tenders for Copaquire drill program (Chile)

2005-01-06 09:13 ET - News Release

Dr. Gary Medford reports

COPAQUIRE MEGA-MOLYBDENUM TARGET TO BE DRILLED

International PBX Ventures Ltd. has issued tenders for a 2,500-metre drill program to commence as soon as possible to confirm and extend previous work by major companies and test induced polarization anomalies obtained by International PBX on the Copaquire property. The 1,433-hectare Copaquire property is located 20 kilometres west of the megacopper-molybdenum Collahuasi mine but at lower elevations (3,500 metres to 3,900 metres) and workable year-round. The company has the option to earn a 100-per-cent interest in the property over a four-year period.

Current molybdenum prices of over $30 (U.S.) per pound make this an enormously exciting project for the company as previous drilling and surface sampling indicate the presence of widespread Mo values of between 0.1 per cent to 0.2 per cent, or, in other words, between 2.2 pounds and 4.4 pounds Mo per tonne. Based on previous sampling and drilling and induced polarization work carried out this year, the target size is estimated to be in the range of 500 million to 1.3 billion tonnes (see Stockwatch on Oct. 18, 2004).
We seek Safe Harbor.

PBX CHILE PROPERTIES

Tierra de Oro [detail], Copiapo Chile-
(Au, Ag, Co, Cu)
Consisting of 15 Exploitation Concession (3056 ha) this property had work done by us in 1996-98 with very good gold assay results. It could produce significant areas hosting gold mineralization in the 1.5 to 2 gpt Au in near surface oxidized zones at depths of less than 50 meters, making it favorable for an open pit heap leach operation. The property is 100% owned by the PBX. More surface sampling is required and this property may be the target of our next drill program.
Las Lomitas, Copiapo, Chile-(Cu, Au, Ag)
This property contains 5 exploitation concessions ( 1000 hectares) situated on the east side of the above Tierra de Oro concessions. It has been optioned to a third party.

San Pedro [detail], Vallenar, Chile-(Ti, Au, Cu)

Wholly owned, 1,000 hectare grass roots exploration property in the Cerro Blanco Titanium District.

Property covers several large alteration systems, Rosario and San Pedro, historically mined for copper, gold and rutile (titanium dioxide).

Old mine workings in the Rosario copper-gold alteration zone, which primarily exploited high grade quartz-sulphide "ore" typically grading 2%-5% Cu and 10-50g/t Au.

Assays for systematic outcrop sampling by IPBX personnel of the San Pedro titanium zone range from 0.4%-2.4% TiO2 and averaged 1.4% TiO2.

Exploration Target; Disseminated Rutile (TiO2) and Copper-gold deposits

Sierra Pintada [detail], Vallenar, Chile-(Cu, Au, Ag)
There are 14 Exploration Concessions (3300 ha) in this wholly owned group. Material previously mined typically graded 3-5% Cu and 1-5gpt Au, from one zone, and 1-5% Cu and 10-50gpt Au from a second zone. This property was staked by PBX in April 2002 and is 100% owned by us. The zones are 12 km long and 100 m wide.

Tabaco [detail], Vallenar, Chile-(Cu, Au, Ag)

Zulema [detail] , Copiapo, Chile-(Cu, Au)
This 3600 ha property sits in the center of a huge land package recently staked by BHP Billiton as one of four prime targets to be surveyed with Billiton’s proprietory Falcon System. The stated objective of the survey (Far West News Release Sept. 5, 2002) is to explore for I0CG (Candelaria, Manto Verde etc) type deposits. Acquisition cost is US $2,000,000 over four years, with a 1% NSR being retained by the vendors. The property has been optioned to a third party for US $2,010,000 and we retain a 30% interest. The target is a large induced polarization chargeability anomaly.

Hornitos, Copiapo, Chile- (I0CG type Cu-Au deposit)
Consisting of 11 exploration concessions totaling approximately 3100 ha, is located 35 kilometers south of Copiapo. The property is a grass roots exploration play acquired by staking in February 2003, because of its similar geological setting to PBX’s adjacent Zulema option and is believed to have similar potential for the occurrence of Candelaria (I0CG) type Cu-Au deposits.

La Totora (Cu, Au, Ag, Co)
Wholly owned, 1,600 hectare property in the Chilean Coastal copper - gold belt adjoining the Sierra Pintada property.

Property covers 10km southerly strike extension of the Gloria (Totora) and Vina zones in the Totora mining district with similar historic production grades of 3-5% copper and 10 - 50g/t Au.

Sampling of old workings and adjacent outcrops by IPBX personnel in this sector gave weighted average grades of 2.73g/t Au + 0.46% Cu in the Totora zone.

Exploration Target; IOCG type Copper-Gold deposits
