In general, you have a strong point about the foolishness of politics. However, in this case, there are nearly a hundred years of case law on the subject. Love it or hate it, antitrust is the law (FD: I like antitrust; if you don't, Europe is lovely in the spring and has much laxer rules.) The real legal question in INTC's case is whether the FTC is pushing the case law too far. I do not think so, but we'll see.
