WASHINGTON (AP) -- Former Vice President Dan Quayle says he will be a
candidate for president, but he's not sure when.

"I will run for president someday. I haven't finally decided whether I will run in
2000," Quayle said on "Fox News Sunday."

Quayle has made recent appearances stumping for candidates and raising
money for Republicans in Virginia, New Jersey and New Hampshire. In
addition, he said, "I'll be going to several states this week."

An early morning chuckle..
