When Windows 7 installs SP1, three files are not updated properly: Usbport.sys, Usbehci.sys, and Winusb.sys (and not all systems use Winusb.sys)

The repository copies get updated, but the working copies do not. One can check this easily, by opening a Command Prompt window and typing the command

DIR /S USBport.SYS

The file in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers is different.

This issue only appears for those who UPDATE to SP1 on a Windows 7 system. Systems that were installed using SP1 DVD are OK. (The problem is with the installer.)

Cheers, PW.

P.S. Windows security makes copying the repository files to the working folder tedious but tools to do it are available online.
